This bin is chock full of linens, knits and wovens that are only spring/summer fabrics. Now I know that I won't get to all of these pieces before the end of September (about when I wind up sewing summer garments and move into transitional ones) but I couldn't bear to move them all into the fabric closet.
The fabric closet - *sigh* - which is in desperate need of a rework because it is jammed packed. The fabrics need to be refolded and reorganized. That is definitely going to become a project for a 3-day weekend this summer. It is overdue for a restructure so now I have to figure out the time to do it. So besides some sewing...I also did a little organizing last weekend!

Hee hee, I think 'chock full' is an bit of an understatement to describe that bin! I'm envious! I love shopping for fabric, but my choices (particularly online due to shipping restrictions) are fairly limited here in Canada.

When do you consider a bin to be full? When it topples over? LOL. What if you can restack it higher, is it still a bin? I want to see the green on the top right and the white/black print between the black and light blue on the left just above the, um, BIN lip.

Now that is my idea of a bin of fabric! The only thing is it is so neatly stacked you will have to mess it up when you want to see it all again. Lol! mssewcrazy

Wow! lots of fabric. I need to get my stuff all organized again. I had it that way, but every time I sew a new project it gets a little less so. Maybe this summer.
One bin, I love it!!
You have inspired me to make an attempt at organization! I was partly successful...I settled on a few projects but then got overwhelmed and had to flee!
It took a couple of hours to get the spring/summer fabric separated from the fall/winter fabric...probably because of all the touching, remembering and dreaming aspect of it.Yep!...and then I'm MORE inspired after to make something out of this one or that one!
In my sewing room I have a bed and a sofa covered in fabric that I leave out because I'm going to sew it next! If things get moved into tubs and put away, I just forget them, so I have to leave them out. I'm with you on the not being able to actually put it into the closet just yet.
oh I've just spent two weeks organising my stash - albeit I did start from scratch. It makes you feel better though afterwards to see it nice and neat doesn't it?
Oooh. I'm droolin'. All that wonderfulness!!! I'm soooo jealous!!! Yeah, I'm with the others': Definitely a two bin stack!!! :-)
Great minds think alike I did the some reorganizing over the weekend too. The reorganization happened because I was looking for 2 yds of beige fabric and once I'd found the fabric looked at the mess I'd created.
Post an updated picture of your fabric stash/ closet so I can drool and won't feel so bad about my new and recent purchases for my sewing class.
I love that that is "one bin" of fabric! That's what my bins look like as well. It's much nicer to be able to say one bin instead of three.
